Is It Just Me… or Are We Consuming Too Much Too Fast?
So I just recently started learning how to sit with information.
And I don’t mean just reading slower I mean actually letting something stick before moving on to the next shiny thing.
Before now, I used to think more is always better. So I consumed for quantity, not quality. I’d read, scroll, save, and move on. If it sticks, great. If it doesn’t… oh well. There’s more where that came from, right?
But lately especially since I got on Substack it feels like my brain might actually explode from all the gems and juicy takes I keep stumbling on. Don’t get me wrong, I love it there. There’s so much good stuff. But I also find myself wanting to slow down and just breathe through one article at a time.
Still, the moment I try to do that… boom! Shiny Thing Syndrome. A new post. A better headline. A fresh perspective. And just like that, I’m hopping from one idea to the next, barely giving any of them a chance to settle.
Is it just me?
Or have you felt this too this constant pull to keep learning, reading, knowing without really processing?
I don’t have a grand solution yet. But for now, I’m learning to pause. To let something marinate. To pick one thing and sit with it long enough for it to actually mean something to me.
Curious to know are you experiencing this too? Or is it just me?
